Prominent banker Mr. Rashed Sarwar recently promoted as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) in Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited. Currently, he is serving as the Zonal Head of Chattogram Zone and manager of Agrabad branch of the bank.

Mr. Rashed Sarwar started his banking career as an officer in American Express Bank in 1994 after obtaining Bachelor and Master degree in Management Department from University of Dhaka. He worked in Al Baraka Bank Bangladesh Limited from 1996 to 2002. Later, he joined at Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. in 2002 working here till now. In recognition of his significant contribution in his banking career of more than 28 (eighty-eight) years, he has been awarded with various honors including the Managing Director's Award in several times. Under his leadership, the Chattogram Zone of the Bank has achieved significant growth in business, recovery and profits in the past year. He was born in a noble banker's family in Adhunagar village of Lohagara Upazila in South Chattogram.

Mr. Rashed Sarwar participated in various training workshops at home and abroad on banking and economics related including investment risk management, international trade, asset-liability and liquidity management. In the future, he expressed his confidence to play a role in expanding investment for export diversification, CMSME and agri sector.
