AL-WADIAH CURRENT DEPOSIT ACCOUNT

Al- wadiah current deposit A/C is designed under the Al-Wadiah principles of Islamic Shariah. Islamic banks receive deposits in Current Accounts on the basis of this Al-wadiah Principle. In that case, Islamic banks obtain permission from the Al-Wadeeah depositors to utilize the funds at its own responsibility, and the depositors would not share any profit or loss earned/incurred out of using this fund by the bank. The banks have to pay back the deposits on the principle of Al-Wadeeah on demand of the holders. Here depositors call as a Muwaddi and Bank acts as Muwadda.

Feature Of AWCD

  •   The Bank will utilize all such deposits as the Bank may deem appropriate in approved Shariah compliant modes of investments.
  •   Depositors will not be shared with profit or loss earned from investment.
  •   The Bank, at its own discretion, uses the funds of Al-Wadiah current deposit accounts without any risk to the account holder.
  •   AWCD should not be operated and conducted by Minors.

Eligibility

Proprietor's account is related to individuals, which can be open against personal organization. A sole proprietorship, also known as a sole trader ship, individual entrepreneurship or proprietorship, is a type of enterprise owned and run by one person.

Partnership account is related to business entities owned and operated by two or more individuals. It is important for managing joint financial activities and investments.

Semi Government Organization. Autonomous Bodies or Semi Government organization are those who follow government rules and government but also have their own policies, rules and structures.

A local authority is an organization that is officially responsible for all the public services and facilities in a particular area. It is an organization that is in charge of the public services for a community under the government.

These organizations shall be created and registered under Societies Registration Act. They may not be registered organizations. Some of them shall be registered under Companies Act.

A non-governmental organization (NGO) is a group that functions independently of any government. It is usually non-profit organizations.

Any mentally sound person over 18 years of age can make a contact with Bank’s Branch to open an individual AWCD A/C according to the Banks Al-Wadi‘ah Deposit Principle.

More than one mature/adult person or entity jointly or combination of mature(s) may constitute joint accounts. A joint account is a bank account that has been opened by two or more individuals or entities. Joint holder client can enjoy as per ADC service operation policy
