Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited provided agricultural investment facilities of Tk. 350 Lakh (35 million) at 4 percent subsidized profit rate among small ethnic groups in Tangail district for the cultivation of pulses, oilseeds, spices and maize for the financial year of 2022-2023 as per the instructions of the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and as per the Agricultural and Rural Credit Policy of Bangladesh Bank. Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited provided agricultural investment facility of Tk. 71.00 lakh that were distributed to 16 ethnic farmers through a program organized in Tangail district on 04 February 2023. The Managing Director & CEO of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited Mr. Mosleh Uddin Ahmed attended as chief guest and handed over the cheques among the tribal farmers. The rest of the investment money will be paid to the farmers later.

Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited has provided investment facility of about Tk. 200.00 Lakh (20 million) to tribal farmers at a subsidized profit rate of 4 percent during the financial years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. The Deputy Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Md. Shahjahan Shiraj presided over in the ceremony and the Head of SME and Agricultural Investment Department of the Bank Mr. Md. Abdur Rahim delivered the welcome speech. The Zonal Head of Tangail Region of Shahjalal Islami Bank Mr. Abdul Khalek, the Chief Regional Manager of Bangladesh Krishi Bank Tangail Region Mr. Khalekuzzaman Yamin and the Additional Deputy Director of Tangail Agricultural Extension Directorate Mr. Md. Nurul Islam delivered speech as special guests. The Speakers expressed optimism in their speech that the agricultural investment will increase agricultural production and ensure food security in Tangail area to a large extent.

Among others, the Unit Head of SME and Agri Investment Department of the Bank Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam and the Managers of various branches of Tangail Zone and other officials of the Bank were present in the occasion.
