Mr. Akkas Uddin Mollah has been unanimously re-elected as Chairman of Executive Committee of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. in it’s 354th meeting of the Board of Directors held on 11th January 2023. In the same meeting, Mr. Fakir Akhtaruzzaman re-elected as Vice-Chairman of Executive Committee of the Bank.



Re-elected Chairman of Executive Committee Mr. Akkas Uddin Mollah was born in a respectable Muslim family in 1954 at Nawabganj, Dhaka. After completion of education, he started export business of readymade garments. Mr. Akkas Uddin Mollah has long and creditable business experience for more than three decades and established a number of Garment Industries by dint of his merit & hard work. Mr. Mollah is the Chairman & Managing Director of Russel Spinning Mills Limited, PNR Industries Limited, Tania Cotton Mills Limited, Russel Garments, Russel Apparels, Russel Washing Plant, Ekram Sweaters Limited, Nurul Islam Spinning Mills Limited, Helal Textile Industries Limited, Tofaz Dresses Limited, Goodman Pharmaceuticals Limited, PNR Leather Products Ltd. and Ekram Industries Ltd.. In addition to his success in trade and business, Mr. Mollah is immensely reputed for his contribution to the field of education and health care services. He is the Founder of Osmania Madrasa and Osmania Memorial Hospital. Mr. Mollah has also affiliation with different trade bodies and social organizations. Presently he is the member of BGMEA and BTMEA. He is also a member of Narayanganj Club. He has also travelled many countries of the World for promotion of his business.



Re-elected Vice-Chairman of Executive Committee of the Bank Mr. Fakir Akhtaruzzaman was born in 1956 in a respectable Muslim family at Panchrukhi, Araihazar in Narayanganj District and started business after completion of his education. He has a long and successful business experience for more than three decades and established himself as an icon of Knit Garments Industries. Mr. Fakir Akhtaruzzaman is the Managing Director of Fakir Knitwear’s Limited, Fakir Eco Knitwear’s Limited, FKL Spinning Ltd., and Zaman Agro Fisheries Ltd.. He has been awarded with National Export Trophy (Gold, Silver) several times and also selected as CIP by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to national economy. In addition to the success in trade and business, Mr. Akhtaruzzaman is immensely reputed for his contribution to the field of education and health. He is the Founder of Shaheb Ali High School, Begum Anowara College and Madrasah Darul Hadith Salafiah at Araihazar of the Narayanganj District. Presently he is the Director of Central Hospital Limited, Dhaka. Mr. Akhtaruzzaman has also affiliation with different trade bodies and social organizations. He is the member of BGMEA, BTMEA and Narayanganj Club. He is a brave Freedom Fighter. He has also traveled different Countries of the world in connection with business.
