Mr. Mohammed Younus has been unanimously re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited in it’s 354th Board meeting held on 11th January 2023. In the same meeting, Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed re-elected and Mr. Abdul Karim (Nazim) elected as Vice-Chairmen respectively of the Board of Directors of the Bank.



Re-elected Chairman Mr. Mohammed Younus was born in a respectable Muslim family in Munshiganj District in 1958. Renowned industrialist and businessman Mr. Younus has a long and creditable business experience more than three decades and engaged in Papers, IT, Insurance, Marchant Bank, Agro Sector, Fabrics and Cold Storages Trade Industry. He is the Managing Director of Sobhan Ice & Cold Storage Ltd., Younus Cold Storage Ltd., Ananta Paper Mills Ltd., Younus Paper Mills Ltd., Younus Fine Paper Mills Ltd., Younus Spinning Mills Ltd., Sharif Cold Storage Ltd., Younus Newsprint Mills Ltd. and Younus Offset Paper Mills Ltd.. He is the Publisher of Online newspaper Sonalinews.com. Besides these he also engaged in the field of education. He is a member of the Board of Trustee of Fareast International University and Word Bridge School. He is also the Managing Director of Galaxy Flying Academy Ltd.. Mr. Younus engaged in Sports, Social and Cultural Organizations since a long time. He is the Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation and Lifetime member of Kurmitola Golf Club.



Re-elected Vice-Chairman of the Bank Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed was born in a respectable Muslim family in 1955 at Bangshal in the old city of Dhaka. He has a long and successful business experience for more than four decades. Renowned businessman Mr. Mohiuddin is the proprietor of Rupsha Trading Corporation and Mohiuddin Auto House. He is also the Chairman of Pecific Automobiles. Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed is the Vice-Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities Ltd. and Sponsor Shareholder of Islami Insurance Bangladesh Ltd.. He is the former Vice Chairman and member of the Governing Body of Southeast University. He is also a Director of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI). Mr. Mohiuddin is engaged in several social welfare organizations since a long time.



The newly elected another Vice-Chairman, Mr. Abdul Karim was born in 1965 in a noble Muslim family in Beani Bazar, Sylhet district. Prominent businessman Mr. Abdul Karim has been involved in business for more than three decades in United Kingdom. He is the Chairman of London Tea Exchange BD, the Managing Director of Karim Enterprise Ltd. & proprietor of Maharani Restaurant, Camden in UK. He is also the Director of UKBBCI Organization. Moreover, he has been involved in social service work for a long time. Mr. Karim is a Trustee and Project Director of Beani Bazar Cancer and General Hospital. Besides, Abdul Karim is currently the Vice President of Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) and President of Beani Bazar Welfare Trust and Beani Bazar Jonokollan Shomitee, UK.
