Prominent Banker Mr. M Akhter Hossain has elevated to the Post of Additional Managing Director (AMD) of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited. Prior to elevating the post of Additional Managing Director, M Akhter Hossain was the Deputy Managing Director & COO and Chief Anti Money Laundering Compliance Officer (CAMLCO) of the Bank.

Mr. M Akhter Hossain started his profession in 1988 joining Agrani Bank Ltd. as a Senior Officer. Later on, he joined Mercantile Bank Ltd. in 2002 as Assistant Vice President. After that Mr. M Akhter Hossain joined Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. in 2005 as Vice President. Mr. Hossain has more than 34 years of banking experience to his credit. He successfully performed as Branch Manager of key Branches of Agrani Bank and Shahjalal Islami Bank, gathered extensive experience in Correspondent Banking, International Business, Treasury and other key banking areas.

Mr. M Akhter Hossain obtained Hon’s and Master degree in Accounting from University of Dhaka. He also received MBA in Financial Management from University of Hull, England under the prestigious scholarship of Bank of England. Mr. M Akhter Hossain took part in various training programs, seminars and workshops on Banking & Finance held in home and abroad.
