Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC organized the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) in Chuadanga
Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC organized the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP). The program was implemented by Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC with the initiative and financial support of the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, and under the supervision of Bangladesh Bank. The closing ceremony was held at Chuadanga Sadar in Chuadanga district. The program was presided over by Mr. Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, and Ms. Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank, was present as the chief guest.
Among others, the Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank and Program Director of SICIP-PIU Mr. Md. Masum Billah, Executive Director of ATMABISWAS Mr. Md. Akramul Haque Biswas, the Head of SME & Agri. Investment Division of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC Mr. Md. Abdur Rahim along with senior officials of the Bank"s Corporate Head Office and Managers of Chuadanga Region were present at the program.
During the event, certificates were distributed among 25 new entrepreneurs trained under Bangladesh Bank"s Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) and 5 selected entrepreneurs were handed over dummy cheques of Tk. 16 lakh for business expansion. Additionally, five entrepreneurs received awards in five different categories for their outstanding performance. As part of the program, a colorful product fair was organized on the ground floor of the training venue, where stalls of 25 entrepreneurs trained under EDP were placed. Various innovative products from agro-processing, handicrafts, fashion, IT and Bakery sectors were displayed, which creates enthusiasm among guests, bank officials and visitors.
Mr. Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director of the Bank said, “There is no alternative to creating skilled entrepreneurs for the economic development and employment generation of the country. This initiative is playing an important role in enhancing the capabilities of new entrepreneurs and building sustainable businesses.” Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has been conducting various development initiatives for creating skilled human resources and entrepreneurs as part of its social responsibility and commitment towards the industrial development of Bangladesh. Through this program, trained entrepreneurs will contribute positively to the local economy and strengthen their role in achieving sustainable economic growth of the country.
