Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited organized discussion meeting on the life and work of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of 48th Martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation on 09th August 2023. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank Mr. Mohammed Younus was present as the Chief Guest while the Managing Director & CEO Mr. Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presided over in the function. The Directors of the Bank Dr. Anwer Hossain Khan, MP, Mr. A. K. Azad and Engineer Md. Towhidur Rahman took part in the discussion meeting & discussed elaborately on the life and work of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Among others the Vice-Chairman of the Board Mr. Abdul Karim (Nazim) (participated in this meeting through digital platform), the Directors of the Bank Mr. Md. Sanaullah Shahid, Mr. Akkas Uddin Mollah, Mr. Khandaker Shakib Ahmed, Mr. Abdul Halim, the Additional Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Abdul Aziz, Mr. S. M. Mainuddin Chowdhury and Mr. Mian Quamrul Hasan Chowdhury, the Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Imtiaz U. Ahmed & Mr. M. M. Saiful Islam, the Company Secretary of the Bank Mr. Md. Abul Bashar and the CFO of the Bank Mr. Md. Jafar Sadeq, FCA took part in the discussion meeting. The Head of Public Relations Department of the Bank Mr. Md. Shamsuddoha (Shimu) moderated the program.
In the virtual meeting, the Speakers emphasized on the contribution of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the great architect of freedom in modern Bangladesh and the propagation of his philosophy from generation to generation. The speakers said that the present and future generations need to know the correct history of the country's independence. Bangladesh would not have become independent if Bangabandhu was not born. The Bengali nation will forever remember the great contribution of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the independence of Bangladesh. Bangladesh achieved independence under the visionary and uncompromising leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a strong protester against injustice. He always thought about the liberation of the people of this country. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has gifted us with golden bangla. As long as this Bangladesh exists, Bangabandhu's name will remain in our memory. Bangabandhu spent most of his life in jail for protesting and struggling for freedom and the rights of exploited Bengalis.
