Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited has paid tribute to the 48th martyrdom anniversary of the great architect of freedom, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on the occasion of the National Day of Mourning by placing wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman installed in front of the Bank's Corporate Head Office on 15th August 2023. On the same day, a tree plantation program was inaugurated at the Bank's Corporate Head Office premises. Later on, fruit and medicinal plants will be planted in different areas of the country. In addition, special prayers for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other members of his family who were killed on August 15, 1975 were sought for the forgiveness of the departed souls of the martyrs through the recitation of the Holy Quran. The Managing Director (Current Charge) of the Bank, Mr. Abdul Aziz formally inaugurated the tree plantation program by placing a wreath on the portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Among others, the Additional Managing Directors of the Bank Mr. S. M. Mainuddin Chowdhury and Mr. Mian Quamrul Hasan Chowdhury, the Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Imtiaz U. Ahmed, Mr. Md. Nazimuddaula & Mr. Mustafa Husain, Head of different Division of Corporate Head Office, Branch Managers and Head Office Officials were also present.
