Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited started Agent Banking operation to provide banking services at the doorsteps of all people under financial inclusive activities. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank Mr. Akkas Uddin Mollah formally inaugurated the Agent Banking operation as Chief Guest with a formal ceremony at the Bank’s Corporate Head Office on 02nd January 2020. The Managing Director & CEO of the Bank Mr. M. Shahidul Islam presided over the ceremony.

Among others the Vice-Chairman of the Board Mr. Khandaker Shakib Ahmed, Directors Mr. Md. Sanaullah Shahid, Engineer Md. Towhidur Rahman, Mr. Mohammed Younus, Mr. Fakir Akhtaruzzaman, the Managing Director & CEO of the Bank Mr. M. Shahidul Islam, Additional Managing Directors Mr. Abdul Aziz & Mr. S. M. Mainuddin Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Md. Shahjahan Shiraj, Mr. M. Akhter Hossain, Mr. Mian Quamrul Hasan Chowdhury & Mr. Imtiaz U. Ahmed were also present in the program.

Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. started it’s Agent Banking Operation with 15 (Fifteen) outlets in 01st step at 05 (Five) divisions in the country. There are 07 (Seven) Outlets in Dhaka division, 05 (Five) in Rajshahi Division, 01 (One) in Khulna Division, 01 (One) in Barishal and 01 (One) in Chattogram Division. From Agent Banking Outlets the customers will be able to open accounts, deposit and withdraw cash, receive foreign remittance, receive deposit, fund transfer, investment facilities, pay different types of utility bill and receiving all types of banking services.

In his speech Mr. Akkas Uddin Mollah said, Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. will extend banking services consistently to all classes of people of the society. We hope that Shahjalal Islami Bank agent banking activities will bring positive changes in rural economy in our country.
