Prominent Banker Mian Kamrul Hasan Chowdhury has been promoted as Additional Managing Director (AMD) at Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL). Prior to taking over the Charge of Additional Managing Director, he was the Deputy Managing Director and Head of Human Resources Division of SJIBL. On the other hand, he also looks over the overall activities of Retail Banking Division, ICT Security Department, Research & Development Department, Branding & Product Development Department and SJIBL Training Academy.

Prior to joining in Shahjalal Islami Bank, he served Bank Asia Limited as Deputy Managing Director looking after People Management Division, Marketing & Communication, Research & Strategy and Training Academy. A veteran in the bank industry, Mr. Chowdhury has multi-functional experience in Human Resource Management, Credit Risk Management and Internal Control & Compliance.

After completing Bachelor (Hons) and Masters in English from University of Dhaka, he started banking career with Bangladesh Bank as an Assistant Director in 1993 where he served in different departments including Public Accounts Department, Audit Department, Problem Bank Monitoring Department, Secretary’s Department, Department of Banking Inspection (Foreign Bank Division) and Department of Currency Management & Payment Systems. He joined United Commercial Bank Ltd. in 2008 as Senior Vice President and worked in different areas at Head Office as Divisional In-charge till December 2015.

Mian Quamrul Hasan Chowdhury received various capacity building trainings at home and abroad including USA, Germany, Malaysia and India for tuning professional excellence.
