To facilitate and accelerate better treatment for Thalassaemia Patients, Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited donated Tk. 5 Lac to Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital. The Managing Director of the Bank Mr. Farman R Chowdhury handed over the Cheque with a formal ceremony organized by the Hospital worth Tk. 5 Lac to Mr. Omar Golam Rabbany, Chairman of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital & President of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity on 12th September 2015.
Thalassaemia is a genetical chronic anemia. If father and mother bear this diseases Gene, their new born child may be affected by Thalassaemia. It is found in a recent survey that there are 10-12% percent and near about 1.5 corer People of Bangladesh are the bearer of this diseases. At present there are 30 thousand children are suffering and 7 thousand are being affected by this diseases at the time of their birth. Most of the European Countries could reduce this disease in 2% percent by creating awareness among people. It is very urgent to make awareness in our country’s people to prevent these fetal diseases drastically. Only awareness is the main ingredient for preventing Thalassaemia.
Among others the Project Development Consultant of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital Dr. A. K. M. Ekramul Hossain Shawpan, VP and Head of Public Relations Division of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. Mr. Md. Shamsuddoha and Executive Director of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital and Treasurer of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity Engr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain were present in the occasion.
