CRISL has reaffirmed the Long Term Rating to ‘AA’ (pronounced as double A) and Short Term Rating to ‘ST-2’ of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) through an in-depth analysis of the operational and financial performance of the bank along with all its relevant qualitative and quantitative factors. The basis of its evaluation was financials of the bank up to December 31, 2012 and other prevailing factors up to date rating.

This level of rating indicates a corporate entity with a sound credit profile and without significant problems. Risks are modest and may vary slightly from time to time because of economic conditions. The Short Term Rating ST-2 indicates high certainty of timely payment. Liquidity factors are strong and supported by good fundamental protection factors. Risk factors are very small.
